This article primarily introduces the core uses and application scenarios of FoneTool’s app management features.
FoneTool App Management is primarily designed for the following scenarios: When your iPhone is running low on storage space, you can uninstall infrequently used apps in bulk to quickly free up space; When you need to access or export files from the sandbox of specific apps (such as video players, e-readers, office software, etc.), you can directly manage their internal data; it also supports cross-device file transfer, allowing you to import documents from your computer into designated iPhone apps for immediate use, as well as export files received within apps to your computer for storage, enabling efficient data transfer and organization. Specifically, it includes four functions: uninstalling apps, exporting files, importing files, and browsing files.
Before using the App Management feature, please ensure you have completed the following preparations:
Software Installation: Download and install the latest version of FoneTool on your computer.
Device Connection: Connect your iPhone to your computer using an original or MFi-certified cable.
Trust the Device: If a prompt asking “Do you want to trust this computer?” appears on your iPhone screen, tap Trust and enter your lock screen passcode.
iTunes Service: Ensure that the iTunes service on your computer is running normally (FoneTool relies on this service to recognize your device).
App Permissions: Please note that the import and export functions only work with apps that have iTunes File Sharing enabled (sandbox permissions), such as VLC, Word, GoodReader, etc.
Step 1: Launch FoneTool, and your device information will be displayed on the home page of the program. Click Data Explorer, which will take you to a new interface.
Step 2: In the interface, locate the APP list and all installed apps will also list on the right, along with the Browse Files and Uninstall buttons. Alternatively, you can click the Uninstall button at the top of the list.
Step 3, Once you’ve navigated to the app details page by clciking Browing files button, you can view the list of files in that app’s sandbox.
Export Files: Check the files you want to export, then click the Export button and select a save location on your computer.
Import Files: Click the Import button and select the files from your computer that you want to transfer to this app.
Note: The import and export features are only available for apps that have enabled sandbox file access.
FoneTool’s app management feature greatly simplifies the maintenance process for iOS devices. Not only does it eliminate the hassle of uninstalling apps using traditional methods, but it also breaks down the barriers to file transfer between your computer and the iOS app sandbox. Whether you’re looking to free up storage space or efficiently transfer work documents and media files between devices, this feature provides a secure and convenient user experience.
