How to Restore Data from Backups?

This page tells you how to restore data to Apple Devices.

FoneTool's Restore feature allows you to recover lost or deleted data from backups to your iOS devices. You can also transfer backup data from one device to another.

Prerequisites for Data Restoration

Before initiating the restoration process, please ensure:

  • FoneTool is installed on your Windows computer.

  • The target iOS device is connected to the computer via a USB cable.

  • The backup file you wish to restore from is available on the computer.

Step-by-Step Restoration Process

Step 1: Access Backup History

1. Click on "Backup History" from the left menu bar.

2. Locate the desired backup file and click the "Restore" button to enter the restoration interface.

 

Step 2: Select Data and Start Restoration

1. Choose the specific data items you wish to restore. 

2. Select the target device for restoration. 

3. Click "Start Restore" to begin the process.

Notes:

  • Restore the backed up data to the device will not overwrite or clear the original contents on the device. If you restore the same contents to the device more than once, it will result in duplicate contents on the device.

  • When the photos in the device are in synchronization state, please do not perform any restore operations of photos, which may cause restore failure.

  • When you restore the contents in Messages successfully, your Apple device will be restarted automatically, you’ll need to do some settings to enter into the system again.
